Description
The Impinj R700 Revision 2 (R700v2) builds on the proven R700 platform and introduces a 64-bit processing architecture for projects that require additional on-reader intelligence.
This hardware revision is specifically relevant for RFID installations where edge processing plays a role — such as item-level identification, aggregation logic or packing verification. The upgraded 64-bit dual-core ARM A53 processor and expanded CAP memory provide significantly more headroom for customer applications running directly on the reader.
Importantly, RF performance, sensitivity and mechanical design remain unchanged. This means existing antenna configurations, mounting positions and cabling layouts can be maintained. For new deployments, R700v2 offers a future-proof foundation. For existing R700v1 users developing CAP applications, recompilation to the 64-bit platform is required.
