This newly developed software allows real-time graphical view of battery-free and wireless sensors. It records data for later analysis and is available to all users of the SensThys sensors.
PhySens is a simple windows application that uses SensThys RFID readers to interrogate passive sensor tags. These are specialized RFID tags that can report on the conditions of the environment in which they are placed.
And some examples include temperature, moisture, density, voltage and other dielectric properties of the environment:
- Composite materials during curing
- Vehicles during leak inspections
- Electrical or mechanical machinery for out-of-bounds conditions
- Adult diapers
The application's applications include fiberglass and carbon fiber composites curing and post-installation monitoring, medical/health care, automotive leak detection, concrete curing, switchgear monitoring, machining and even some high-end consumer products.
The software tool enables continuous interrogation of 100s of tags, with live graphs for real-time interpretation of the data flow from these tags. Together, the readers, passive sensor tags and PhySens software enable next-generation solutions to real world problems.
