Times-7 launches new RAIN RFID Portal platform for logistics
Times-7 has launched the Times-7 Portal, a new RAIN RFID portal platform developed for dock door and logistics applications. Designed for pallet, carton and item-level tracking, the platform combines controlled RF performance with flexible configurations to provide accurate RFID visibility in warehouse and supply chain environments.
The Times-7 Portal uses a focused 50° horizontal beam to help minimise unwanted cross-reads and create a more controlled read zone. Its pultruded fibreglass frame has minimal impact on RF signals, supporting predictable RFID performance while keeping the structure lightweight and durable. The platform is also compatible with standard RAIN RFID readers.
Three configurations for different RFID environments
Not every dock door or logistics process has the same requirements. Times-7 has therefore introduced the Portal in three configurations: Portal System, Portal Tower and Portal Base. Each configuration is designed for different portal dimensions, products and operational environments.
Times-7 Portal System
The Portal System is the most comprehensive configuration in the range. It uses four antenna units with dual-sided coverage, providing a broad read zone for wide portal openings, taller pallet loads and environments where different types of products and pallet dimensions are handled.
This makes the Portal System particularly suitable for distribution centres, warehouse receiving and dispatch, inbound and outbound pallet verification and multi-lane warehouse environments.

Times-7 Portal Tower
For locations where installation space is more limited, the Portal Tower provides a more compact configuration. Two antenna units are positioned on a single side of the portal, while still providing coverage for taller pallet profiles.
The Portal Tower is designed for applications such as apparel distribution, narrow dock door openings, warehouse receiving and retail logistics facilities. It maintains the controlled RF characteristics of the Times-7 Portal platform while providing a solution for installations where a full two-sided configuration may not be required.

Times-7 Portal Base
The Portal Base focuses the read zone closer to the ground and is designed for lower-height pallets and more challenging products. Its concentrated read zone makes it particularly suitable for liquid products, metal products and dense pallet configurations.
It can be installed as a standalone RFID portal or incorporated into a larger portal configuration, giving integrators more flexibility when designing an RFID installation for a specific application.

Designed for flexible RFID deployments
The different configurations make it possible to adapt the Times-7 Portal to the actual RFID application rather than using the same portal design for every installation. This can be especially useful in logistics environments where pallet dimensions, product materials, available space and required read zones vary.
The platform is intended for permanent installations across logistics, retail, manufacturing and supply chain operations and works with standard RAIN RFID readers.
For installations where cable management is important, Times-7 also offers the optional Cable Bridge. This accessory provides a dedicated route for cabling across the portal, helping to protect and conceal cables while creating a cleaner installation.
